Inter-University Exchange Project
The Pacific island regions, rich in diverse cultures and ecosystems, are home to vibrant traditional cultures but are also highly vulnerable to the impacts of global warming, climate change, and societal shifts. The region’s initiatives in addressing issues such as marine pollution, energy, health, and poverty offer valuable insights for tackling urgent global challenges.
To foster human resources capable of addressing these challenges, the Inter-Island Sustainability Educational Program (hereinafter referred to as “the Program”) has established partnerships with five institutions located in the Pacific island region: the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo, Kauaʻi Community College, Kapiʻolani Community College in the United States (Hawaiʻi), National Dong Hwa University in Taiwan, and Chinese Culture University in Taiwan.
