At Ryudai+C International Forum, a Glimpse into the Inter-Island Sustainability Educational Program

On Thursday, February 13, 2025, faculty members and student participants introduced the Inter-Island Sustainability Educational Program at the Ryudai+C International Forum, “Reimagining University.” In addition to an overview of the program, they also presented the student-led initiative “Nuchi Maaru.”

Ryudai+C “Innovative & Creative University Education,” is a project launched in the 2024 academic year as part of the COI-NEXT (Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) Program on Open Innovation Platform for Industry-academia Co-creation) at the University of the Ryukyus. This initiative fosters dialogue across academic disciplines and connects the university with the broader community, supporting creative education and research through cross-departmental collaboration.

During the forum, various initiatives at the University of the Ryukyus, including this program, were introduced. A diverse group of stakeholders from both inside and outside the university participated, and an artist workshop was also held, facilitating discussions on new possibilities for interdisciplinary learning.
